GraphJam Hilarity

October 28th, 2008

I can’t get enough of this site! GraphJam lets users create a graph about anything they want (news, songs, pop culture, movies, or whatever). I’d list favorites, but there’d be way too many. So, when you get the chance, hit the ‘Random’ button up top to just cycle through the graphs – some users even link the YouTube video to go along with the graph which is great!

Okay, I had to link a few (I couldn’t stop clicking).

A Bunch of Portfolio (and other) Updates

October 26th, 2008

So, I’ve been hackin away at the site and finally have a show-able portfolio (I think). So, when you’re ready, you can check out My Portfolio or click the link up top. I’ve got Web Design and Development (HTML/CSS), Print Pieces and Identity/Stationery Packages to check out.

You may also notice the ‘Recent Portfolio Updates’ over on the right so you can stay up-to-date on my work. That widget and the portfolio gallery were both part of A NextGENeration Photo gallery By NextGEN DEV-Team (which can be downloaded from WordPress here).

AND, towards the bottom of the sidebar (on the right), I have a ‘Currently Working On’ section which I can update on Twitter with a plugin called Twitter for WordPress developed by Ricardo González (which can be downloaded from WordPress here).

Fine, one more (because I really like it). Contact Form 7 (which is highly customizable), developed by Takayuki Miyoshi. Now when someone (like you) wants to contact me, I can rest assure you’re not spam, and I’ve labeled the incoming mail so I can organize and reply more efficiently. You can download this WordPress plugin here.

So, that about does it. If you have any thoughts or comments, be sure to let me know!

How to Make a DEVO Hat (Energy Dome)

October 13th, 2008

DEVO hat

So, you want to make your very own DEVO hat (AKA Energy Dome) for an upcoming 80’s party, Halloween party, or just to wear to work to be more efficient. I’m guessing you have no time to buy one, or you just want to be creative and get some attention. Well, you’re about to be the big hit at whatever function you’re about to attend – you may even get that fat raise you’ve been hoping  for!

Here’s what you’ll need (from any hobby/craft store): 2 styrofoam rings (flat wreaths), 3 styrofoam discs (3 different sizes – 10″, 8″, 6″), hot glue, red spray paint (styrofoam friendly)
Price: $30
Time: 15 minutes + 1 hour dry time of spray paint
